Battery Replacement - Removal of air box

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 2017 reg Galaxy 2.00 diesel galaxy and am in the process of trying to replace the battery.

This requires removal of the air filter box and I am sure that I can eventually work it out by trial and error, but nowhere can I find a definitive guide to do this for my particular model.

YuTube videos show air boxes that are nothing like mine and I would have thought it should be so straightforward to find guidance?

If I get no responses and manage to sort the matter myself, I will happily share my knowledge.

Same here 2017 2.0 diesel, yes it’s a PITA lol, airbox  and air pipe out of the way,  remove the engine cover as well for some more space, removepositive cable and tape out the way.

remove bracket from battery, scrape knuckles and swear a bit trying to move the old battery out. It’s quite tight and tucked in under the wipers etc quite a simple job but a long winded process
then repeat in reverse including swearing 😂

Thanks for your reply JIm.

However, my main problem is how to remove the air box.

It’s only held in with a rubber bung but there is a air intake scoop connected at the front of the air box (see pic below) held in by one screw to the box and one in to the block best way to get to them is to remove front cover above the grill it’s held in place by about 10 plastic push fit connectors, the pipe is held in place by 4 little tabs and can be disconnected without removing the air scoop but is a pain to get it back in place when re installing due to little to no access to the one screw in the air box
