how to remove back cover for camera?

Featured Replies

How do I remove the cover, I've had an annoying vibration for ages, I have been trying to locate the noise for ages, as it's getting on my nerves, it's also not that safe trying to find rattles and vibrations when I'm driving, yesterday I put my hand on the back cover for the camera and the noise stopped, I would like to investigate it, but not sure how to remove, hopefully it's that and not that the road surface changed as I touched it.

You must have very long arms to be able to reach the reverse camera 🤔

Or are you talking about some other camera ?

Whoops! maybe it's a sensor, it's located in the top middle of the windscreen, near the rear view mirror, as I was driving I could feel the bottom is stuck to the windscreen, but the plastic cover above still on the windscreen felt removable and assume must be access to camera/ sensor, I know it reminds me if it's steamed up, or ice on windscreen, I haven't tried to remove cover yet, but didn't want to pull on it and cause breakage

Sorry to revive an old thread, vibration from the sensor area is spoiling my drive, I don't always want to turn on the radio, I can't find information how to remove the plastic cover, to me it looks as though it's removed from the headlining then goes down to a v shape before the rear view mirror, has anyone removed the cover before, so I know which way to pull without breaking the lugs, thanks.

The plastic cover is just clipped on to the metal plate stuck on the windscreen. The cover just pulls off from the bottom edge. The use of a plastic trim tool placed under the edge of the cover and the windscreen will allow it just to be popped off.

That's good, I already have trim removal tools, so I should be able to lever the bottom edge that touches the windscreen, is that that right? I want to take off and see if I can use foam to stop the vibration, it's fine on smooth roads, not on poor surfaced roads and because it's near my head it does get annoying, thanks Unofix
