FordPass

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Just something to chat about. The past week my FordPass app has decided to go on strike. When I go into it it comes up with the message "Vehicle in Battery Saver Mode".

Please bear with me. I know about this happening when the car battery is low. Yesterday after returning from a decent length trip  the FordPass app was up and running. This morning it wasn't.

On carrying out a voltage check on the battery with a volt meter I get a reading of 12.43 volts. On doing another check via my RewireSecurity tracker I get 12.47 volts.

I would have thought even 12.43 volts was enough for FordPass to work. Any ideas?

The TCU (modem) has its own battery.

It might be that the SoC isn't high enough to allow it to charge the TCU battery enough to disable deep sleep.

Mine seems to go into battery saver mode if I haven't started the car for 24 hours.......or if it gets very cold over night, which is great on frosty mornings and I'm looking at the car through the kitchen window 😞

As you say Steve it appears mine has suddenly decided it doesn't like the cold weather if I haven't started it for a couple of days. It really isn't much use to me as the car is garaged so I don't need to start from the house on a cold morning. I know where my nearest dealer is and I could find one via the internet if I am on holiday.

The only thing I would find useful is the "emergency assistance" button as this gives exact location to the emergency services. After doing a bit of investigation today I have found that once my car is running FordPass works so "emergency assistance" would be available. So now I that would be available no more sleepless nights. 😌
