Confirm Location of Evap Discharge Air Temperature Sensor

Featured Replies

Hi - new here. 🙂

I'm trying to confirm where the Evaporator Discharge Air Temperature Sensor is located. It's part no. is BE8Z-19C734-A. I saw a very helpful post on here (link below), which shows it being in the foot well near the cabin air filter access. However, while searching around the internet I also found an online service manual that suggested this was behind the glove box. Link: https://www.ffguide.net/air_conditioning_a_c_evaporator_discharge_air_temperature_sensor-728.html Having bought a Haynes manual for the car, naturally they don't seem to cover this sensor. 😞

So, I'd appreciate some confirmation of where this part is before I start dismantling things to get access only to discover I am dismantling the wrong bits! Thanks.

Additional car info:

Model Year 2016
Focus SE Hatchback
USA Car/Model

Those two locations are close enough to suggest they are both correct. In the footwell near the cabin filter which is kind off behind the glovebox. I stand to be corrected though.

That thread is for the Fiesta, not the Focus.

The Focus one is also next to the pollen filter cover, but on the left hand side of the box.  (Passenger footwell for us, drivers footwell for you).

Thanks - I missed that. The picture looked the same but I missed the forum/car details. Doh!

Just a follow up "Thank You" to @TomsFocus :clapping:- when you know where to look, this has to be perhaps one of the easiest parts changes ever!

On the left side of the gearbox in the footwell as mentioned and on USA cars there's not even anything to remove to get at the sensor. All dressed up to do battle with trim parts and nothing to do. Hopefully the sensor will do the trick of stopping the AC freezing up. Had this fixed under warranty before and then late last year had the same issue. Hopefully this stupid sensor is the cause again.

Picture for anyone else looking and finding this thread. Hold the clip down and slip out the wiring connector. Turn the sensor anti (counter) - clockwise about 1/4 of a turn and it pulls out. 👍 Install is the reverse of removal. 😂
