Starter Motor Service ??

Featured Replies

10 reg   1.6tdci  mk 2.5 Focus.  Titanium .

The battery is  18 months old  and the Alternator  about the same .

The car starts ok , but sometimes seems sluggish  at first when turning over.

It never clicks , so far.

The car has done 169K miles , on original starter motor .

Question :  can starter  motors be serviced  ?  would a mechanic  take that job on

or would they  just say it probably needs replacing ?

thanks in advance.

It would cost more to service than just replace.

For about £80 you can get a new starter with a guarantee.
