Sync3 Android Auto Issues USB

Featured Replies

Hi all. Apologies if there is already a thread for this, I've looked through the first few pages but couldn't see one and I joined this forum to ask this question as I can't find an answer anywhere else!

I have just bought a 2019 Ford Focus and I am having issues getting Android Auto to work.

I have paired my phone via Bluetooth and all is fine. When I connect via USB it gets stuck on a screen saying "Sync 3 is initialising Android Auto - Check your device". I cannot get past this screen.

I have:

Tried multiple cables

Completely reset my phone and factory reset Sync

Set my phone to default to file transfer/android auto in developer settings

Updated Sync to latest version

Is there anything else I can try?!

My phone tells me that Android Auto is connected but the car doesn't show up in connected cars in the settings. Sync recognises my phone and model when connected by USB but won't get past that screen.

My phone is a Redmi Note 10.

Any suggestions welcomed! Thanks in advance

I would say it is the phone

Try a different Android phone and see if AA connects

Thanks, mate. Just to say that I tried this and you were quite right. All worked fine with a Google Pixel.

I have a 2021 Ford Ranger XLT Supercrew and my Sync 3 system no longer shows up on the system in my truck after I connect my phone via USB. I need help, please!
