1.8 tdci cranks wont start no signal to diesel pump

Featured Replies

Hello, new member from Sweden here.

I own a transit connect 2011 with the tdci 1.8 engine, P9PB

My issue is that it wont start, no electrical signal to the pump and no diesel comming out of the injectorpipes. Recently changed injectors(they are not coded in yet) and drove about 10 miles with no problem. Came home and tried to start the car again, it cranks but there is no sign of start. PATS works correctly according to the little light in dash.

I have measured cables between the pcv,vcv valves and the ecu and they are ok. Fuse 14 that supplies 12v are ok. And connection from the fusebox to the pcv avd vcv is good. My diagnostic tool reads about 180-200 rpm when i crank

Is my ecu the problem?

Connected an dtc reader and ran som tests

In one column the reader says "Activation of fuel pressure for start" and the value reads "no". Anyone know that the pcm needs to know before activating fuel pressure? Feels like its missing some kind of signal from something.

Fuel pressure probably needs to be 300 bar or more on this engine.

If the low pressure side is empty then there's a leak on the pipework somewhere.  You won't see diesel leak out, it will only suck air in.

Seems too much of a coincidence that it has failed (and  crank sensor appears to be giving RPM) but crank/camshaft signals are usually needed as part of the start up process?
