    Ño it's on top, driven from the camshaft.

    For a 2L Galaxy engine at least, you can easily trace the fuel line from the filter to the pump as they are all on the top of the engine block, placed left to right as you are facing it. The fuel pump is fastened to the top right of the engine block.

    Not that reliable,  the springs inside snap loosing the pressure. Also suffer from oil leaks from the gaskets frequently.
