Location of Glow Plug Relay/Control Module?

Featured Replies

Apologies if this has been discussed before but searching online for hours has not produced the correct answer for my model.

I am trying to locate the Glow Plug Relay in a Ford Galaxy 2.0L TDCI 2010 Mk3.

It is not adjacent to the coolant expansion tank/brake fluid reservoir, it is not visible anywhere in the engine compartment or from underneath with tray removed. It is not under the air box. I doubt it is behind with the glow plugs as the feed from them comes directly to the front and across toward the fuse box.

Haynes Manual does not help as it refers to the wrong location.

For this common model at least, the location is a mystery. It looks like the part shown in the attached photos. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tomorrow I will try under the LH/Nearside headlight but I am not hopeful.

As far as I know, it is fastened on, or very near the battery tray.

Thanks for your reply. I will have another look around the battery tray tomorrow, removing the battery cover, and maybe even removing the battery.

Had a look under the LH headlight but no joy. Next I will try behind the LH wheel arch where I believe the ECU is. The glow plug relay/control module must be somewhere ‘between’ the ECU and glow plugs, but tracing back the loom(s) there is nothing anywhere. If it’s not near the ECU I am stumped.

Any ideas gratefully received.

I’m stumped. I checked the ECU behind the LH wheel arch but no sign of the glow plug relay/control unit. I cannot believe it’s so hard to find. Doesn’t anyone know where the glow plug relay is in a Ford Galaxy 2.0L Tdci Duratorq?

Ford top secret 👍

Can you post a couple of photos of your engine bay so we can see which layout you have ?

I'm sure Ford designers treated the glow plug relay like an Easter Egg hunt...hiding it in a different location on every model!

What engine do you have is it a WA6?
