non working brake light

Featured Replies

hi can anyone help please i had brake light not working warning  light So i changed the bulb with a new one but it still dont work all other lights are work but not the brake light

drivers side any clues why not please thanks

If you're sure it's the right bulb and inserted the right up then it has to be a fault with the wiring or the holder.

Firtly test whether you are getting voltage to the holder with the brakes pressed.  If you are, then the holder tabs are loose/bent and need bending back in again.

If you're not, then check continuity from the plug pins on the back of the board, to the holder on the front.  If no continuity, the board is corroded or even damaged somewhere.  If you are getting continuity through the board then there's a wiring fault further back in the car loom.
