Oil consumption Tourneo Custom 2024

Featured Replies

I have only driven 14500 miles since new and had to top up 4 litres of oil. I have been reading on various other social media platforms that Ford advise that the vehicle consumes around 1 litre of fuel for every 1000 miles driven. This surely cannot be right? Is there a general fault with the engine build ? Should I take the vehicle in maintenance as it will become expensive topping it up.

Thanks

Or to put those figures another way, it is burning 1.0ml of oil per mile. If that truly is the case then I doubt it would pass an MOT emissions test, but then again what they check for never seems to make sense.

So if we say the engine oil capacity is 5.0 Litres then you would empty the engine after only 5000 miles. Of course it would probably seize up after only 3000 miles so you would at least get to save the last 2 litres. Something seems wrong !!

Oil capacity according to handbook is 7.1l .

Does anyone else have any experience with the new 2024 Tourneo or Transit

Capacity is 9.3 litres for the new shape custom.

You say you have only driven 14500 miles since new and had to top up 4 litres of oil

That equates to 3,625 miles per litre. I know that generally Fords don't use oil but Ford will say that your figures are quite acceptable
