Washing Red paint

Featured Replies

Hi all

Just purchased a 2023 Red Fiesta Titanuim X and birds decided to christen it.

Are there any special do’s or don’t for washing it, what not to do or use etc.?

don’t want to cause fading etc.

Thanks in advance.

We did have dealer spray protective coating on it!

If it's been covered with Supagard or similar then you can just wipe bird dirt off with a soft, damp cloth.

Fading is caused by the suns UV, so don't keep it outside during daylight.

I once scratched a Windscreen because I tried to wipe an Seagull's mess of it without thoroughly soaking it, the Seagull must have been eating a lot of things with Bones, so be careful with Seagull and Crow family droppings.

Yes, definitely beware of bird poo with modern paint. I always put a wet paper towel/kitchen tissue on any droppings and leave it to soak before attempting removal.

I really do need to start using my glasses more. I thought you said "Seagull and Cow family droppings" 🤣

Thanks to all who responded.  Hope the coating the dealer applied does its job as I do not have a garage!

And I did have to soak the *****, it was stuck on like superglue.

Thanks all

Mike P
