How's my luck

I'd still want to know what brand the clutch is and how much warranty it comes with.

Seen several Transmech clutches fail quickly.

After 2 days the car is still in garage for a clutch and now he wants another day to do it. It's a one man garage he said take him 4 hrs to do, I popped in there yesterday and saw luk 3 piece still on the seat.

At moment seems excuses after excuses.  Suppose to come at 10am turns up at 12, 1st day car not back, I went in the late last night and said it be done in the morning and guess what still sitting there on, now he saying can't do it today wants it another day.  Locking nuts, other cars, school run, he doing other cars that come in before mine.

I'm tempted to pull the car out and say look if it's to big job for you why take it on and car recovered to another garage.

Just been sent a pic by someone he took off the drivers side wheel and it's on 1 trolley jack.

And now he's took off passengers wheel to on another trolley jack.

I'd have already done that 🤔

The only thing he done in 2 days is took both wheels off.

Is that taking the bleep or what

Tbh it sounds like he's a single person trying his best and overstretching.  If you need fixed timescales then you'd have to pay for a 'proper' garage.

He picked my car up with another car and left his Merc outside my house.

When I spoke to him yesterday I said you car outside my house on bend, he's reply was,  it's ok it's not mine.

That sounds odd

Oh another thing when he called today we thought it was fixed and he said why you wanna use it. Erm yeah I was planning go out later tonight and tomorrow to pick up friend

He could've at least left you the keys!  (Assuming you can drive other cars on your insurance)

I'd run to another garage! Very very very unlikely his insurance covers a car that's just left at your house and not his premises. Report to trading standards also wouldn't be unjustified.

Does both wheels need come off for clutch. To me can't see him doing a clutch on trolly jacks

Can be done with just passenger side removed, but generally would remove both.

Possible on trolley jacks but not remotely safe.  Hopefully he'll stick some axle stands under at some point.  He'll need a trolley jack to manouvre the gearbox on his own anyway.

Hi guys.

Got car back this morning 9am new luk 3 part clutch. What a difference very low biting point and it's seems bit more nippy now. He had to smash off the locking nuts even tho I had new ones as they was seized on and replaced them with new normal nuts. Didn't charge me any extra to smash them off or new nuts. Was 420 quid all in gave me car back and try it before I pay him later.

Just 'cos you're fully comp it doesn't necessarily mean you can drive other vehicles....a lot of people think it does, but unless your policy specifically states that can you can drive other vehicles THEN YOU CAN'T !!!

Can you test a expansion cap by blowing or putting air in it from a air line.

After I collected my car yesterday I asked about the cap and he tested that way.

I take it he means putting air into the reservoir through a pipe hole to see if the cap opens?  That should work in theory though I've never heard it being done before.

I hand both caps in my hands and gave them to him he used a air line from his garage, put the air line at the bottom of cap while he was holding it and said that's that cap knackered and that's cap fine.
