Washer Bottle only working at the rear

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. I recently changed my washer pump on my 2008 Galaxy but I am only getting fluid from the rear. When I press the button to wash the front windscreen, the wipers move but the fluid still comes from the rear outlet. I understand that the pump works one way for front, and the other for rear but it seems like mine is only working in one direction. Has anyone come across this before or might have some ideas? I'm guessing I can swap the hoses for now as I never use the rear washer anyway. Thanks

Are you sure you bought the correct pump?

I checked with the registration from the seller and visually it is identical. I suppose the new pump could be at fault.

It could

Best to fit a new one really, for the cost

This sounds like an aftermarket pump.

The genuine Ford washer pump does run in two directions but in addition has two small one way valves fitted inside so that water can only go to the correct outlet depending on rotation

yes it is an aftermarket one. sounds like il have to shell out for an official one.

Thanks for the replies
