MK8 Fiesta Heat Shield

Featured Replies

Hello,

Please can some provide myself with part numbers and/or links to a heat shield for the MK8 STline fiesta, my current heat shield attached on the front of the engine has complete split in two - extreme vibrations noise from engine bay, its the part where it looks like a hand with a cross through this follow down to the bottom of the bay but has completely split in two around half way through the bolts.

i have attached a fake image from another car - in the middle you can see the silver metal plate over the engine. spacer.png

anyone got any idea on how to fix?

the heat shield is entirely cracked all the way around the lower the two bolts on the front.

They can often be found s/h on Ebay:

If you could post a pic of your actual shield with the crack, someone may be able to suggest a repair.

i will upload some acctual photo's tomorrow - i originally wanted to fit a replacement i've looked at MOT guides and clearly states heath shield aren't a failure for MOT unless next to fuel cell/system.

could the top part be fully removed and not replaced?

i understand there may be heat soak from the turbo into the bay

I suspect that you don't have a 2025 model (check your profile) otherwise it would be under warranty 👍

That one on EBay is still available. Someone might suggest a fix after seeing the pics.

I wouldn't want to remove the shield personally in case I came into contact with it while topping up etc under the bonnet - that little turbo gets very hot.

PS you need to correct the model year in your profile information.

i've read online removing it shouldn't cause any issues passing MOT - im struggling financially and MOT in may so any suggestions appreciated it - not gonna be able to fix myself unless i remove it but yet again i don't know how to go about doing that, strangely i've also had an issues now with the battery holding charge, charged yesterdays day before and today and left on for 15/20mins after a few hours battery goes dead.... weird

also have engine management light on and when plugged in showing issues HVAC system and O2 sensor, could the heat shield be causing issues with my O2 sensor unsure whether it's before or after the cat

£60 from Ford eBay store using code.

Edit - Actually I'm not sure that us the right one.  Yours seems to come in 2 pieces, not broken in half as I thought.

Part number for that one looks like 2193076 but none available online at all.  I can only assume that part number has been superceded.  Definitely worth asking Ford if they've got one for your car, or a breakers yard.  You could try metal cable ties but I don't think you'll get them tight enough to stop it rattling.

This one might be compatible but I'm not 100% sure.
