Ford S-Max (2015) Air Con Compressor Pulley Problems

Featured Replies

Hi,

I've been trying to find out if the pulley for the Air Con Compressor can be replaced WITHOUT the need to replace the compressor !... all searches come up with the complete unit, wondering if anyone has found JUST the pulley ?

Second option.... a stop gap..... is there a drive belt available that will run everything WITHOUT going around the Air Con pulley?

2015 Ford S-Max

Reg: XJZ 7342

Many thanks

Adrian

You can replace the pulley alone, but Ford don't sell it separately, so need to go aftermarket.

This is one example -

Regarding the aux belt, it only runs AC pump and alternator to start with.  If you remove the tensioner you could fit a very short stretch belt just from crank to alternator, but it may not have enough contact on the pulley.  I'd just fix it properly as the bodge is likely to cost more and be more hassle in the long run.

Thanks Tom !.....I've searched all over for a pully and all the motor factors are listing complete compressor only ... Ford want £701 +vat !.... I just clicked your link and ordered the last one.... if it works out, the kids might have some Easter eggs this year !... Thanks again ! Adrian
