Rattled out from under my Focus yesterday when driving down the road in town. Not sure if it was on the road and i didnt see it or if its off my car ? Dont ever recal seeing anything like it before. I rather think it was on the road and i didnt see it and flicked it up with my front wheel. Its about 45-50 mm across and made of alloy.

That's interesting.  I don't think it has come from your car.

I have seen similar items used to stiffen gearbox mounts on VAGs and BMWs.

Looks like part of the latch system used to secure shipping containers to the back of a lorry using the ISO blocks.

I assume the item is of a heavy type casting of steel alloy.

No, its lightweigh alloy of some sort. Its tiny really maybe 45mm across and 30mm deep. It made a high pitched pinging noise as it hit the road and the underside of my car. Its not like anything ive ever seen on my car for sure. I didnt see it on the road, thats why i was wondering. I stopped and my lad went back and picked it up just incase.

It looks too clean to have come off the underside of a 9 year old car.

Maybe it was thrown under your car from one going in the opposite direction or one in front.

No there was nothing in front of me at the time or anything coming the other way either. I think it was just lying in the road and i didnt see it and hit it with my front n/s wheel and pinged it off under the car and out the back.
