Ford Transit Connect coolant issue

Featured Replies

hi guys, im currently having an issue with my 2015 transit connect 1.6 185k but lower mileage engine fitted 2-3 years ago with 25k on, after a bit of advice if anyone has came across this issue before.

the van runs and drives as it should, heating works as it should, but on motorway drives a lot of pressure seems to build up in the expansion bottle causing the coolant to leak out, on normal journeys there is no issue at all with it. its never over heated or gone into limp mode. i haven't noticed if the fan comes on unfortunately but i have tested the fan is working and the relay is clicking at it should when powered up.

before giving in and putting it in a garage would anyone have any suggestions on what this could be ?

Thanks kieran
