Seized injector

Featured Replies

My lad is doing a transit engine that snapped the belt. Couple of questions for the wise on here. He has 3 injectors removed but the fourth is seized solid, he unscrewed the top half to get the rocker cover off. Cam box looks fine everything in line where it should be. No broken rockers and all valves are at the same level so nothing bent. Has anyone heard of the vacum pump seizing up ? Its solid and has broken the insert ring thing that slots into the camshaft. Could that be what caused the belt failure, a seized vacum pump ? Any suggestions on how to remove seized injectot without removing the cyl head. Think it will need to be removed anyway because both the water housing bolts have been snapped off. This van came from someone else who made a botch of the whole thing, he snapped the bolts and did a load of other damage and charged the owner £1600 for the privilege ! Owner got his money back after threatening him with trading standards. Any advice would be well recieved. Tia Del

Is this a 2.0 EcoBlue?  Wetbelt fragments clogging the oil pump can restrict oil flow to the vac pump which will cause it to seize eventually.

Don't have any clever ideas for injectors though.  Slide hammer is usually best for those.

Yeah it looks like it. He is going to remove the head because of the broken bolts for the water housing on the front of the engine. At least one of those will need helicoil because the wankspangle that was trying to do it made a mess of trying to drill the broken bolt out. He will fit new sump and side cover too.
