Got a quick question- ended up cleaning the egr in my car as well as a new clutch kit/ timing belt kit in my 1.5 tdci. I was looking at potentially getting it remapped- is it worth it? I have read the box can only take a certain amount of torque right?

No idea on the 1.5. Never had one myself. As I said in that post, I didn't feel the need to map the later 1.6, so for me it obviously wasn't worth it. 🙂

All gearboxes and clutches are only designed to take a certain amount of torque. Some mappers will offer limited torque maps to keep the clutch and gearbox safer. But really it is the torque that people find fun, that's what pushes you back in the seat. BHP figures are only for willy waving at the pub, meaningless in the real world.

@DaveT70

you said rule of thumb, if the car has led drl then it will have sync 3. my car has led drl but it is sync 2. i really wanted sync 3 but at the time, i know nothing about the sync system and thought it was sync 3 as it advertised.

Yeah perhaps I should've been more specific.

I was talking about Titanium MK3.5s, not Titanium X. If a Titanium has DRLs it's usually late 2016 and Sync3, Sync2s didn't get DRLs, they were optional

All MK3.5 Titanium Xs had LED DRLs

Thank you @DaveT70

Do you know if anyone can install one for me or is it a case of buying the things I need and install it myself?

I was thinking about leaving it alone but I just can't help feeling that the sync 3 would be better all around including the responsive touch screen.

Just watch some youtube videos of how to take the surround off, it's quite easy really

Something like this?
eBay item number:406817530700

I do like the look of this, I like the fact that you can mirror my phone to the sync 2.

I will read up more on this

Many thanks @DaveT70
