So the top insert came off of my gearstick and all 4 little tabs had snapped, went to my local Ford dealer to see if they sold the insert separate was told no they only sell it as a complete gearknob, Thought ok I’ll just get that won’t be that much for a Gearknob
.. £140! Super glue it is then lol

    How cheap were you expecting the insert alone to be? 

    Genuine Ford Gear Knob Insert 6 Speed Manual MMT6 1806038 | eBay

     

    There are loads of aftermarket versions on ebay for under £10.  Just have to compare yours carefully as they are different sizes on different models.  Also check that Reverse is in the right place as well.

    I was thinking for around 50p’s worth of plastic I was expecting to pay around £30 at the stealers for a insert.

    I was looking at the aftermarket online this morning, the only thing that’s putting me off ordering one is the Font looks slightly off on the top, I think I’m like the opposite to people who like to mod their cars I like it 100% OEM 

    im going to order aftermarket one as I even I can’t justify ÂŁ140 might ask the Mrs for it for Christmas đŸ€Ł
