ForScan Error Codes

Featured Replies

Hi,

Is anyone able to help me understand what these ForScan error codes mean. My check engine light came on when driving home a few a days ago and I have driven since, but trying to diagnose the issue in ForScan before taking to the garage for repair.

I'm not sure which of these issues is causing the check engine light, I think probably O2 sensor? I’m also not sure what some of the errors mean.

The issues appearing in ForScan are as follows:

P0141:00-ED O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2

P0141-C O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 2

U0146:00-2F Lost Communication With Serial Data Gateway Module ‘A’

U0140:00-08 Lost Communication With Body Control Module

U0401:82-08 Invalid Data Received From ECM/PCM ‘A’

U3003:68-08 Battery Voltage

C1001:97-68 Vision System Camera

U0418:86-28 Invalid Data Received from Brake System Control Module ‘A’

Please help me understand how to fix the issues causing these errors.

Thanks,

James

Hi,

You're right that only the O2 sensor fault would illuminate the EML.

The heater element in the sensor has probably burnt out.  If that's the case it just needs a new sensor fitted.

Sensor 2 is the one fitted after the cat.

Thanks for your help. I’ll get that sensor replaced first then.

Do you know if any of the other errors are anything serious? Apologies, it’s my first time using ForScan so not sure if the communications errors are due to something I’m doing.

Thanks,

James

Faults starting with a U are generally just glitches.  They may have been caused by battery voltage dropping too low.  I would just clear those and not worry about them unless they return.
