Seized caliper front nearside

I'd connect Forscan to it and use it to perform a self-diagnostics and valve check on the ABS module. I can't imagine there are many failures modes that cannot be detected despite seemingly causing a pressure lock in a brake circuit.

Car's in a garage at the moment. They did say they can get it repaired and will try do me a good deal on the overall cost. They're going to have to send the module away to get it refurbed but they said it won't be until tuesday. They're going to call me on tuesday with a final price to repair the car.

How did they diagnose it being faulty? My concern would be (indeed is) that there's nothing wrong with it and a refurb won't actually change anything. It might 'fix' it insofar that removal will required a full fluid flush and bleed which might be all that's wrong. Air in ABS systems can exhibit some unusual symptoms.

So far the caliper was stripped right down and the brake hose was also replaced, the garage have stripped the caliper down, checked the car over from the master cylinder back to the brakes front and back checking every hose/pipe , bled the brakes and so far have said the solinoid is jamming and have also said the issue is the ABS module. I don't know if they used FORscan or some other diagnostic software to come to the conclusion that it's the ABS i know the guy who is looking at my car own's tuned fords and works on a lot of ford cars in the garage and was the same mechanic who dealt with mytuned 350 bhp mk7 fiesta when i had it other than that all i can do is take their word that the ABS module is what the actual problem is as i'm not a mechanic

That's fair enough, and does now sound more convincing.

Now it's a wait until tuesday as the garage is closed over the easter holiday. Should get a price for everything on tuesday and if i'm happy to go ahead they will send the part away and repair the car once it's returned. At least a fortnight without a car.

Just an update.

Car is still in the garage.

The abs unit had to be sent away for repair. EcuTesting confirmed the unit was faulty and the part should now be repaired and is back with the garage due to be fitted today.

Car's back and working great so it was the ABS Unit.
