Coolant Loss After Wet Belt replacement

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I recently had my 1.0L EcoBoost Fiesta (MO8) in the garage for a wet belt, water pump, and coolant housing replacement. Got the car back on 11/04. Since then, a few issues have come up:

  • Coolant level dropped in the first couple of days, now seems to have stabilized, but still monitoring it closely.
  • White smoke from the exhaust even after the engine warms up – not thick, but visible.
  • Idle sits higher than usual on cold starts (~1500 RPM instead of 1000), and takes longer to settle. Occasional roughness when starting.
  • No visible coolant leaks. Garage checked it over and said to monitor it for a few more days.
  • Also worth noting: the intake manifold was cracked during the repair, but they told me it was repaired before giving the car back.

Just wondering if this could still be air in the system, or something more serious like early head gasket failure, coolant temp sensor issue, or even a problem with the intake repair.

Anyone had similar symptoms after coolant system work or manifold damage/repair?
