Help Ford Transit Connect Sport 1.5, Wing Mirror damaged!

Featured Replies

Hi all, could really do with some help..I have a 2021 Transit Connect Sport, 1.5 with heated folding mirrors.

The other day someone swiped my drivers wing mirror and didn't stop, yes i was parked correctly on the side of the road in a marked 1hr bay.  I was able to pick up all the pieces including the coloured outer cover which luckily looks ok surprisingly.  Most has gone back together but, missing a lower bit of black trim, mirror smashed, and inside there is damage to areas that hold the folding mirror motor and circular cage that supports the mirror. The black trim around the glass is also broke but not right across.  Thing is, Ford has said i have to buy and entire drivers wing mirror, the whole bit that bolts to the door, then buy a new cover IF needed (primed), and the glass, just over £500!!!😳😭

I've looked after my van so i am really gutted and annoyed, and don't earn enough to simply buy one new, most of which i won't need.  Is there a diagram of parts possibly showing if the bits i need can be sourced from a breakers, or even just get a good used manual one that is the same as there seems to be loads and i'm not sure if my van is the Mk2 or facelift as lots of wing mirrors have twin glass or are taller/bigger, then if i can get a standard manual one i can strip all the motor, and/or mechanism off mine and fit to the manual one? I have no idea if the mirror body can come off the main plate that bolts to the door?  The coloured cover is fine, polished out 99% of the scratches, folding motor and wring all work fine no damage luckily, just need that missing trim below and glass, but inside the mirror body is a bit busted!  Any help would be really appreciated!

Also, my DAB stopped working a few months ago, and i cannot retune as radio says, no DAB stations found????  Would disconnecting the battery for a period help reset something?

Thanks..

Thanks Delboy, i asked a similar supplier like this one and they said it is a slightly different shape, hence asking you to check the glass shape, plus its non folding and they said you cannot change it over...🫣😭😢
