Electrical challenged Ford S-max

Featured Replies

Hello, i have recently bought a 2012 s- max that is developing all sorts of strange behavior.

First: the heater blower doesnt run.

Next: For a week or so my speed pilot didnt work, but now suddenly works again.

Now my automatic lightning doesnt work, my horn doesnt work, and my rear wiper doesnt work.

Are these things controlled by the ECU, or is there another controller?

Any good ideas or solutions are more than welcome ☺️

On an initial thought, if same as my Dinosaur 2011, check the BCM  connector shown (end 2 larger sockets) for corrosion from washer pump which can cause illogical issues.

If not then will take more diagnosis for combined or separate problems (check fuses, short to ground, open circuits etc)?

ECU as in Electronic Control Module ?

The answer is that they are controlled by the Body Control module (BCM) which is part of the passenger compartment fuesbox.
