Metal shavings in motor oil.

Featured Replies

My S- Max 2014 2,0 150HK diesel have metal shavings in the motor oil. The car have 140.000km on the counter. The motor oil and filter have always been changed within time. Do anyone know this problem, where it can be located and what to do? I am very grateful if someone have experience with such findings.

Engine tear down, to find the wear, I'm afraid

You also have the option to send a sample of the oil to a specialist firm which can analyse the oil and determine what kind of 'metal' is in it an the likely cause of the wear. Something like:

Though I note you're outside the UK so may just have to google to see if there is a local alternative for you...
