Wet Belt Shredded

Featured Replies

EML and Low Oil Pressure light came on the other day.  Took to local garage to managed to find the issue and told me that my Wet Belt shredded and the oil bump was pretty much clogged.

It is now sitting with the Ford dealer - waiting for them to have a look in Mid May (another story for another day).  Has anyone else experienced this with the 1.0 Ecoboost?  My car has only done 45,000 miles struggled to find any service life for this.

Any advice is appreciated

This was very common with the older 1.0 EcoBoost.  But if yours is a 2019 Focus, it should have the newer chain driven engine.  There is only a small wetbelt for the oil pump on those and we haven't seen many failures so far.

First I've heard about it this morning 🤔

But that's usually with the wet cambelt engines as Tom mentioned. Not seen much about the oil pump belt on the revised engine.

I think, from the OPs other posts, this car has been serviced in accordance with the Ford schedule (i.e. 2 years), so it will be interesting to see what they have to say.
