Dan, can you post a photo of the issue as we may be able to offer better advice if we can see what is wrong?

It won’t allow me to upload the picture as it says it’s over the maximum capacity. Basically the bottom part of the plastic clips have snapped off and are stuck inside the gear stick. I’ve tried pliers and tweezers to get the plastic clips out but doesn’t seem to work. Don’t want to have to take it to ford as they’ll charge me a lot to do it!

If you screenshot the picture, the forum should allow you to upload the screenshot.

I can't work out what's happened either without a picture unfortunately.  I can be fairly sure this isn't a Ford dealership job though!

That's a great tip, the photo size should then only be a few 100 Kb rather than 20Mb+ that some cameras store (pretty useless unless you are trying to print out a 24sheet poster ad 😂)

iPhones usually default to huge as they charge you big bucks for monthly storage LOL

Just glue it back on unless you want to spend over £50 for a new bit of plastic.

Oh, that's not what I was expecting at all.  I thought it was the gaiter frame instead of the knob.

If you can find some thin screws, screw them into the plastic as deeply as possible then pull out using the screw head.

Or try and drill each plastic leg out with a thin drill bit. That will takes ages though, not sure I'd have the patience!

I had exactly the same issue just over a week ago, I used a small pick and some blu tac and managed to get them out. Then Eventually brought a complete replacement on eBay
