Just purchased my 1st Focus and got some noob questions...
It's a 2016 Focus Titanium but there's no Navigation system on the Sync 2. Top right of screen says "Insert nav SD card". Seller seemed to think i just need to buy an SD card, or is satnav maybe not available on this car?
Its a S/S version but with only one key. How to obtain another?
USB socket in front facia seems faulty. When phone plugged in, screen shows "USB Connection Error". Centre console USB socket is ok and connects to phone without issue. Any thoughts?
What's the point of small side lights turning on when door is opened?
Is there a way to find out with a used Ford what original options were added? Ford dealer likely to know?
I'm sure I'll have a shed load of questions lol
 

Hi,

If the system is telling you to insert a nav card then it does have Nav available.  I never understand why people remove the cards.  They're not worth much to sell compared to the whole car.  You do need to get the correct card for your system, so make sure it is one for Sync 2.  The maps are always at least a year out of date so I wouldn't be too bothered about getting the latest version.

The easiest way to get another key is to pay a local auto-locksmith to programme one for you.  They will also cut the hidden blade and programme the emergency chip for if the fob battery dies.

USB socket is broken.  You can either live with it or replace the socket & panel with a good used one from ebay or a breakers yard.

Sidelights turning on when unlocked felt modern & futuristic at the time.  Bit of a gimmick.  Though it does at least help you see when they've blown, as they're not covered by the dash warning system.

@unofix knows of a website where optional extras can be found.  Although it may not work on a 2016 model.  Ford dealers aren't likely to know since the old ETIS system was scrapped.  I don't believe the new one shows the same level of detail.  (And it can't be accessed by us commoners!)  Basic Titanium spec is cruise & climate control.  Auto lights, wipers and dimming mirror.  Luxury cloth seats.  16 or 17" wheels depending on engine choice.  If you've got any other features that particularly stand out then let us know as I can still remember most of the option packs on these.

These entries can't all be taken literally.  That likely refers to standalone nav.  Look for the entries about Sync 2 or similar.

Sync 2 was available with or without SatNav. The Hardware is exactly the same, only the software is different.

With the use of FORScan and a vLinker FS cable it is possible to make the changes needed. There are also a couple of other minor changes that need to be done and of course you will need to get a SD map card (see eBay).

The FOC moderators don't allow any help on telling you how to do it, but there are lots of videos on YouTube.

Got an SD card off eBay and bingo the satnav works.
I now understand why the previous owner removed the card. I think he assumed removing the card would also remove his 'home' address and previous destinations. Seems that data is stored on the Sync system as once active, all that data was there. I deleted it all and will start again.

Now i just need to find a way of getting the USB socket replaced.

Could you post a picture of the port in your car.  Usually they're on a small panel that's easy to swap out but I can't remember exactly on the facelift Mk3.

It looks like the USB is a separate part, but I can't find it in the parts catalogue.  If you contact a Ford dealer and give them your reg, they should be able to find it for you.  If it is available separately it shouldn't be expensive.

I saw the photos - unfortunately not, mine was the panel that mounts in the centre armrest cubby. Sorry!
