2019 Smax Ecoblue 2.0 TD

Featured Replies

Hi!

My 2019 S-Max Ecoblue 2.0 TDCi has an oil leak, and I'm struggling to identify the source. A mechanic suspected it was coming from the sump and resealed it, but the leak has persisted.

With the Ecoblue engine, what are the most common areas for oil leaks? I'd really appreciate hearing about others' experiences with these engines.

Thanks!

most of the time when then do a wet belt change on these engines and remove the sump, they actually prefer to replace the sump with a new one, as you can get sealing issues on these engines after the sump in removed

how did the leak start, was the sump removed ??

did they just use gasket sealer, if using the old sump

my friend who do ecoblue wetbelts all the time on transits in his garage, will only do them if he adds a new sump pan after taking the old one off , there only cheap if i think around £50 for the new oil pan on these engines

I'm not sure how the leak started. As part of the repair, I believe the same sump was reinstalled using gasket sealer.

I'll get a new sump and see if that resolves the issue.

Front cover leaks too if not replaced
