Interesting problem. I could do with some advice

Featured Replies

Good morning all. I am new to the forum and look forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship.

i have a strange few readings on my 2017 Mondeo Deisel St-Line which I bought recently with high mileage so I did not expect a trouble free life. The dreaded spanner and engine light came on and I got the following codes:

P06A6 Sensor Reference Voltage A Circuit/Range Performance

P253F Engine Oil Deteriorated

P2279 Intake Air System Leak

P1102 MAF Sensor Voltage Indicates A Lower Air Flow Than Expected

I have had the following done.

A full service

The MAF changed

The O2 manifold sensor changed

the tyre pressure sensors changed (but that is another story for later)

since having all this done the same fault codes appear and the spanner and engine light come on after about 10 miles of driving.

once you stop and restart the spanner light goes off and the EML stays on until reset.

The only thing I can think of is that this car might have been remapped!

When I do live data readings there are no voltages for the O2 sensor or percentages for the EGR valve.

However, there is a definate 4.8V going to it.

is there a way I can check if it has been remapped and which diagnostic tool would you recommend?

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks

Welcome!
I'm not clear on the CURRENT codes after you have had the service and work done?
You appear to be able to delve deeply into the sensors and IMHO if there is definitely a supply voltage to both but no readings in your scanner (Forscan is recommended on here with V-Linker lead or ?) then as I am at  a great distance, it implies that there may be a wiring fault back to the ECU i.e. the signal(s) are not getting there?
So the signal at the sensors would have to be measured first and then checked back at the ECU or the appropriate wiring checked/load tested/short/open circuit?
Assume the oil has been changed so that has gone away and the possible air leak implied has been looked for/sorted?
Does that make any sense as DezWez has beaten me while I was thinking...
OOOOppps, as said, need to move/copy this into Mondeo section to avoid the Wrath of The Mods!

Thanks guys.

i will post this in the Mondeo section.

These codes came up after the service and sensor changes.

We did a smoke test and there are no leaks visible.

i checked the oil level just in case and it is bang on.

i borrowed a Snap On Appolo+ tool to check.

your point about the wiring will have merit as the voltage showing on the tool is 11.9V but 12.6 across the battery terminals so there is a drop across the ECU of .7V

any idea of where I could get a decent wiring diagram for the engine compartment and do you know where the ECU is housed?

thanks
