I had an error   "  Auto hold Malfunction "   several days ago  since this error occurred the Auto Hold /  Auto Handbrake does not operate.

I am used to using this feature and just press my brake pedal to use the Auto Hold that works rather well yet I am missing this option.

Is there any settings or method to reset and hopefully rectify the " Auto Hold Malfunction "   or  is it a visit to the Garage ?

Thank you.

You could try disconnecting the battery for half an hour.

Autohold shares components with many other features though, so I'm surprised that's the only fault.

There are a number of things which can trigger Autohold to turn off. For example when using the electronic parking brake on a hill. This will disable autohold and it will not automatically turn back on after you release the EPB.

Low state of charge of the battery will also turn off autohold, and even when the battery is back to a healthy state, autohold does not automatically resume.

These are only two examples of things which will cause autohold to turn off until you press the button to turn the system back on.

Thanks had the car approx 18 months I didn't know how to Turn Auto Hold back on as I never needed to use this as it always worked fine until error message  " Auto Hold Malfunction " at that time it Turned Off and hence the query.  Just turned back on /off manually as advised in the attached Manual now working fine, thanks again    Centre Console Button lights up orange when on with the dashboard lit up green when Auto Hold is on.

Ford booked me in for a warranty investigation over 3 weeks to wait hence if Auto Hold works fine for the next few weeks i'll cancel the visit,  Thank you.
