Water ingress inside control unit

Featured Replies

Hi

I have been having issues with electrics recently. This has been happening since we have been to a zoo where the monkey has bitten off the rear wiper tube and its brake light bulb and wiring (tell me about it!)

First isssue was engine fan doesnt stop running which drained battery. Found out that a part that runs it was a bit rusty so replaced that.

Now, lights keep flashing even when the engine is off. Apparently its to do with streeting column control unit and again they found some water ingress.

So, just wanted to check with you for some expert advice.

Thanks in advance!

Also check the BCM  (only if your year has one - can't remember)

How did water get into steering column, where else could it have gone?

What are "they" saying and what have they showed you about the  possible extent of this and my usual comment... fault codes, live data, try to monitor switch positions and bi-directional  control via Forscan if that is possible?
