I'm currently looking into purchasing a 2022/2023 Ford Fiesta ST Line. Is it worth the extra to go for a 125 ecoboost, or do people generally find the 100 ecoboost enough? I don't do a great deal of motorway driving - 75% of my time is probably spent around town.

The 100bhp version is likely to still be the old type engine with a wet timing belt.

So 125bhp is the safer option as that will be timing chain in 2022/23.

If the 125bhp is an MHEV then you will notice a big difference compared to the 100bhp even around town.

Unless there's a large difference in purchase price I'd always go for the highest power level in the model you're looking at.  It's not cruising motorways where power is needed, it's joining from short sliproads, overtaking tractors on country roads, and getting out of harms way when some fool pulls out of a junction without looking in town.

There was less than £1,000 difference on the last new price list , so even less used. I've not seen that many used ST-Line 100ps around, anyway. 125 MHEV economy is about 10% better also.
