Engine vibration with alot of white smoke

Featured Replies

Hi All, just wanted to see if I can get any opinions or if anyone has experienced something similar on ford transit 2015 2.2tdci, 278,000km

I was travelling down the motorway had to stop to pay a toll and then brought her back up to speed, there was no hard acceleration to get her back up to speed,

before reaching 120km/h the engine abruptly started vibrating badly it felt like driving on a flat tire at significant speed, after examining the engine bay nothing seemed out of the ordinary but there was a smell of oil in the cab, limped her off the motorway after about 5 minutes oil started leaking out of the back of the turbo, so i suspected turbo failure,

When she was started again the idle jumped higher than on usual Startups and then started to die off like it's being starved of fuel or air at the same time engine is vibrating like mad,

Injectors/seals were checked they're ok, Turbo is now replaced she starts with no issues idle doesn't jump higher than usual startup anymore and it's not dying off as it did before and the vibration has got alot better but small but still remains,

there is alot of white smoke coming from the breather hose if it was blowby or the rings shouldn't it be still the same after changing the turbo?

Time for a replacement engine.
