MK7 Fiesta rev jumps when accelerating hard then drops

Featured Replies

As title states, when i accelerate hard, seemingly in any gear ( haven't tested much incase its causing damage) the rpm jumps up 1-2k in about half a second.  If i drive like a granny there is no issue at all.  Only when the pedal is over half way down will it jump, then go back to normal climb rate, while maintaining the same amount of pressure on the pedal.  This happened for the first time as i pulled out a road going into second, put my foot down and the rpm shot to 4k and stayed there for a couple seconds.  Garage is going to look at it in a couple days but wondering if this is a clutch issue perhaps.

Any help appreciated.

That sounds as if the clutch is slipping (probably worn out). Big bill coming if it is, unfortunately!
