Mk3 Granada 2.0 dohc not starting

Featured Replies

1992 Ford Granada/Scorpio 2.0 dohc not starting , was driving 100% then other day went to start it and it wouldn’t , fuel pump keeps running and have no spark wonder is it like a electricity problem fuse etc or have I two separate problems thanks

Does the engine crank when the key is turned?

Is the fuel pump running continuously when the ignition is on, or does it stop after 20 seconds?

That would suggest to me that to me the fuel system is failing to pressurise. The pump is running but is it pumping fuel ? You need to disconnect the fuel line in the engine bay and see if fuel is being pumped through.

The no spark problem maybe because the fuel pressure switch has not enabled the ignition. To be honest I don't know the answer to that. My memory is a bit hazy when it comes to 1992 Granada's.

It’s pumping fuel 100% good pressure have disconnected the pipe in engine bay , I’ll try maybe get a other fuel pressure switch and see what happens , thank you for your time and information,
