Ford Connect no headlights or brakes

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, new to this forum, I was after some advice I recently bought a 18 Ford Connect trend model, headlights and brake lights have stopped working, no front or rear fogs lights working either, indicators work on stalk.. installed new battery, changed light switch module, got BCM cloned still having issues, only 2fuse boxes.. is there a separate module somewhere? Don’t see one under steering column thanks

Too much guess work going on here. Firing the parts cannon very rarely fixes things.

You either need to find a  good Auto-electrician or start using FORScan and a multimeter to fault find.

Hi unofix, getting a error code for light switch module.. I swapped that around for a 2nd hand item, no luck.. can’t locate another module? I have constant dipped lights.. no rear or front fogs work or full beams on stalk.. rear brake lights looking like brake switch

If you use FORScan, you will get the Ford specific DTC. All lights on a 2018 Connect are controlled by the Body Control Module (BCM) which you can't simply replace as it requires programming.

If you can tell us what the Ford DTC is then we may be able to advise what the issue is. I assume that the BCM has not been replaced since the faults you describe are very much like those of an un-programmed module.

is there a connection on the BCM that may have got damaged?

You are not going to get very far using that genetic diagnostic tester.

Check the connections to the BCM.

Since it has been replaced I would suspect it is either the wrong module or that it has not been loaded with the correct 'AsBuilt' files for your car.

Finally solved while checking fuses Stop Lamp fuse was put back into the wrong slot by myself so can’t blame anyone.. controls headlights also bring on module & brake switch fault glad it’s finally fixed as Lin Bus was showing single wire
