Fiesta Z & Zs Rear Diffuser

Featured Replies

Hi

I know it's only around 3 weeks old but I'm really happy with my Fiesta Zetec but, I think that the rear diffuser is very plain when compared to the ZS diffuser and I would like to know if it is possible to swap them?

There should be no difference in th size so it should be possible. I'm not intending to fit the end bits - at least not at the moment.

If it can be done then can anyone help with on how? Also the best place to purchase.

Thanks, BHeart

pretty sure you can swap them. as the only difference i'm aware of with the zetec bumper and the zetec s bumer is the diffuser caps which are attached either side on the bottom of the standard bumper. i could be wrong though, can't think off the top of my head what both look like.. bad i know

Hi mikester

Thanks for your reply.

I would like to fit the ZS rear diffuser to the rear of my car but, before buying it, and it's around £200 from Ford, I really need to know for sure that it will fit without problems. I would like to stress that I only want to fit the diffuser, one for one - a straight swap.

I would also like to hear from anyone who has done this and has knowledge of exactly how to remove the present diffuser.

Thanks, BHeart

You need to add the diffuser caps as mentioned for it to look right and attach correctly. Im sure these would be relatively cheap compared to the diffuser itself.

Hi

Thanks for your response.

The complete 3 piece kit from Ford is £211.04 and is shown at this url:

I'm assuming that if your ZS diffuser was damaged, this kit would be a direct Ford replacement for the ZS and would imagine that it could be found on ebay for less though?

So with the main part being the diffuser and designed for the ZS, is that not exactly the same size and shape at the part from the rear of the Zetec?

Having looked at a reasonably close up photo of the rear of the ZS, it does look like each side of the diffuser, near the bottom, is shaped to allow the end caps to fit just inside it at each end?

Regards, BHeart

Babble babble ... Can anyone Please say how to remove the rear diffuser ??? Please as this thread is not helpfull... :(

Well the original one isn't too hard to get off

You have to get under the car and unplug the parking sensors

Then there are 2 or 4 expanding clips (the same as the ones you need to remove to take the light out)

Then there is a rivet on either side that you need to drill out

..... Drill out my bumper... This makes no sence to me ???? The old fiestas were so simple

You'd soon complain if someone nicked it as it was so easy to take!

You should talk to my local dealer, they made the diffuser hard to take so the hoodlems take the whole bumper instead. When I ordered mine they'd lost 7 full back bumpers, 2 front umpers, 3 side skirts (clearly one person just went for the one-sided ZS look...) and a few grills, with countless alloys being pinched and the cars being put on bricks :P
