Hi, I’m not sure where to post this as I’m new but I recently bought a 2011 Ford Fiesta 1.4L diesel for my first car. It was bought as a non-runner in the hopes I’d be able to fix it up. It has a new fuel filter, has been bled properly, lots of pressure at the injectors, about 100,000kpa, t injector coding is good too, we have changed the fuel pressure regulator, made no difference, no codes are coming up, tried and downloaded FORscan but no codes either. It runs of easy start, all glow plugs are good, after removing two glow plugs it is not injecting diesel when I turn the engine over. A code comes up if I disconnect any of the injectors, if I disconnect the crank sensor the engine stops cranking after a few turns, disconnecting the cam sensor made no difference(no code). What would stop the pcm from allowing diesel to be injected?



100,000kPa isn't enough rail pressure.  That's only 100bar.  Needs to be more than double that before the PCM will allow the injectors to fire.

If that is when cranking then it is too much. Is there a Desired and Actual Fuel Rail Pressure that you can compare.

Oops Tom, 100,000kPa is 1000 Bar.

The PCM will not not allow the Injectors to fire if the Fuel Pressure is too high because there is a physical limit to the the amount of time the Injectors can open for and the time for 1000 Bar would be too little.

It is most probably the Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor on the Fuel Rail that is not dumping the Excess Pressure down the Return Line, or a Wiring or PCM fault or blocked Return Line.
