Noisey Fuel Pump

I Have just installed a new fuel pump to my 1985 Mk3 Escort XR3i and fuel pump has been working fine, I wnt on a run this weekend and then after about 30miles it has just started being very noisy....any ideas what is causing it? could it be blocked? -

NB - there is plenty of fuel in the tank
