Wet belt

Featured Replies

Hi, I was looking at buying a Ford S-Max Titanium 2.0 Tdci 150PS Auto. I currently have a Ford Fiesta Ghia 2005 and was revelling in the luxury. Then I started reading about wet belts. I called the dealership and initially they said diesels don’t have wet belts but then they rang and said actually the Ecoblue engine DOES have a wet belt. Further reading on here suggests the 2.0 Ecoblue belts are not failing on cars as they are on Transits but would really welcome feedback on this. Thanks!

For reasons mostly not understood it does seem that the problems with the 2.0 EcoBlue is confined to the Transit.

I have a Ranger and a Focus both with the 2.0 diesel engine and all I say is both perform well and so far not had problems with either.

Thanks! Hopefully a few more people will respond but that sounds encouraging!

Things could be worse of course, you could be looking at a VW 2.0 diesel engine. Ford don't have a monopoly on poor designs, even the Germans can get it wrong.
