Focus Low Oil Pressure

Featured Replies

have a focus tddi on a 2001,51 plate, has now covered 153.000 trouble free miles till now, oil pressure light come on when at juntion or traffic lights after running for about 25 miles, from cold, no unusual nioses from the engine, slightly touch the throttle and the oil light goes off, have changed the oil,the filter and the pressure sensor switch, how easy is it too change the oil pump or do i go down the recon engine route possibly very soon, car journey daily about 20miles round trip on A roads. UPDATE, Have changed oil pump, new ford part, refitted, reoiled, problem still there, Have been told that it could be losing oil pressure on crank shells, unable too check without removing engine, have now decided too run car until the worst, not worth rebuilding engine dew too cost, car not really worth sending any more money on it, have done 400miles since pump change and still running ok,

it looks like a seriously involved job just for the pump - looking at haynes. i would be looking at recon engines personally.
