Has anyone used one of the repair kits to replace a faulty flexible on a 7 series Fiesta?

Mine has started to degrade, the outer mesh has come away from the ends and I was considering fitting a repair flexible in place whilst keeping the original down pipe. Replacing the downpipe would be major cost with a CAT fitted, so the repair kit looks a good way to go.

Has anyone done this job? How easy/hard is it to release rear end nuts on the flange and how easy/hard is it to get in and cut the front portion off?
