Ok, I know this is a car forum lol...

I've got the chance to buy a brand new arm chair.  Current one is third hand so never had any decisions to make.

But there are so many fabric choices that I don't know which to choose.  (I've got samples of all the suitable ones at home).

They all seem to be 100% polyester which surprised me.  I avoid anything over 50% for bed sheets.

But there also two distinct textures.  One is very soft and almost like velvet.  The other is coarse with a visible weave.

Both the same price and near enough the same colour.  Both seem durable from purposely trying to stretch and scratch them.  I'm thinking the coarse weave might hold more dirt and grime, particularly on the arms.  But concerned the softer one might show signs of wear eventually.

I spend probably 12 hours a day sat in this chair, so it does need to be practical and durable as well as comfortable and aesthetically pleasing.

Any insights or experience to share to help me decide?
