Battery query?

Featured Replies

Can any one tell me the age of this battery, just got this 2016 mk3 and having electrical shut down issues with it?

No.

If you leave the vehicle overnight what voltage do you get at the battery terminals in the morning, using a multimeter.

I don't think the age is on that label but it may be somewhere.

Get a test, including alternator output, at Halfords or somewhere using a Midtronics device (only one Ford accept AFAIK) or similar.

If original, well past its sell by date!

11.7 before start up then between 14.3 and 14.7 when running.

11.7 is too low, at least the other figures show you have a working alternator...

Less than 30% charged then. Do you have a smart charger that you could use to charge it up for 12 hours? If not @StephenFord has been know to suggest a possible solution on occasion.

Well, here you go LOL This item is now £10 more expensive that when I 1st stated suggesting it!

That looks like the original battery. The voltage looks very much like it has had a good life but you need another one. Time was they didn't last nine years. Five was good going.
