I recently requested a quote on cambelt change. This is what I received. Is this a normal price for this work.for a 2011 Ford Fiest 1.25.

  1. Timing belt kit – £100 + vat (£120 inc vat)
  2. Water pump – £120 + vat (£144 inc vat)
  3. Auxiliary drive belt – £30 + vat (£36 inc vat)
  4. Coolant – £30 + vat (£36 inc vat)
  5. Labour – £440 + vat (£528 inc vat)

Total = £720 + vat (£864 inc vat)

    No.  Should be less than £500 all in for that engine.  How much is the hourly rate at that garage?

     

    That waterpump also looks very expensive.  Ford have an ebay offer on currently so you could get a genuine one for just £10 more.

    Or a complete belt, tensioner and waterpump kit here for £120.  Do check whether that's the correct one for your car though.  Send them a message with your reg to confirm.
