ST-Line Mk3-Is it possible to disable the alarm completely ?

Featured Replies

Hi all. Im having an issue with the alarm, it keeps going off. I ve been searching for some info how to disable it and only thing i found was to take one fuse out. It was labelled Back-up sounder.

But all it did was disabling the back up alarm and using the Horn as a alarm. So not ideal , seems louder actualy 😄

Is there fuse that will disable it completely ? Is that even possible in this car - Focus ST line 2018 mk3.

I've read a few post where people took it to ford dealers and they couldn't find the issue. So seems pointless paying for no fix.

Im considering the FORScan thingy, but for now i would try to disable it. At this point alarm is a useless annoyance not a helpful feature. Thief will steal the car if they know how, alarm will not stop them no matter what.

Thanks for any feedback.

I find it baffling how many people expect an alarm to be disabled by removing a fuse.  That would make the alarm completely pointless as the thief would just remove the fuse!

True, but it was worth the shot 😄

I'd be very surprised if you can't disable it in FORScan.

Though, I'd also be very surprised if FORScan doesn't get to the bottom of what sensor is playing up and making the alarm go off.

My money's on bonnet latch

Forscan should offer different security setups but may not allow the alarm to be turned off on it's own.  Would need to check the options available when plugged into that exact car.

Don't forget to let your insurance company know if you do manage to disable the alarm.

It saddens me just how much time and effort people will go to just to try and disable the alarm system because "it keeps going off"

If they put as much effort in to finding out why the alarm goes off and fixed the problem that would be an end to the issue.

Sorry for ditching the conversation but alarm stopped as soon as the hotter days ended. For now its ok. But to answer your question or rather statement - it would be significantly easier just to switch a button to disable the alarm and had it gone completely, as it is a totally useless feature for me, it always has been. It doesn't do absolutely anything to prevent car being stolen. It only annoys everyone around it. Car thieves will know how to work around it. So no its not the same amount of effort to figure out how disable alarm as it is to fix the source of the problem which in my case might be a complexly messed up front bumper and it will require a massive and expensive body job to fix an idiotic issue. Car seems to have been crashed in the past, bumper isn't aligned and the sensor might be triggered. But thanks for the answers anyway.
