2017 Ford B-Max 1.0L EcoBoost - Knocking at Idle

Featured Replies

Hi all,

New(ish) Ford owner here!

Recently bought a 2017 EcoBoost B-Max with around 50k miles on the clock. Only had it for about 2 weeks when the engine has begun to start knocking at idle, typically it's most prominent after having stopped briskly from high speed driving (eg. waiting at a set of lights on a motorway slip road) and when it's on a level surface or downhill - the rattle disappears when the car is stopped on an incline. I've attached 2 clips below (volume up!).

It had the wet belt changed by the dealer before purchase. It recently went into a garage under warranty where they checked engine mounts and had a general overview, but found nothing awry. Anyone have any thoughts on what could be wrong and is it something worth being addressed by a garage or even a Ford specialist?

Cheers
